Mind of Christ, May 30, 2008

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Father, these words from Paul come to us as a personal plea, urging us to accept a gift of love, asking us to open our hearts that this gift might lead us to an eternal place of joy in Your kingdom.

If we could have but one wish granted here on earth, it would be to have Your mind in us, Jesus, a mind that sees the beginning from the end; a mind that grants mercy when it is undeserved; a mind which lifts us from the burdens of a sinful world into a perfect and eternal heavenly result if we but love You.

Father, we pray this day that You might increase and we might decrease in the affairs of our daily lives. In the Holy name of Jesus we pray, amen.
