PSALM 118:19-22 Prophecy in the Psalms
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go through them,
and I will praise the LORD.
20 This is the gate of the LORD, through which the righteous shall
enter.
21 I will praise You, for You have answered me, and have become
my salvation.
22 The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief
cornerstone.
JOHN 12:23-50 Fulfillment in John
23 But Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the
Son of Man should be glorified.
24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls
into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it
produces much grain.
25 "He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life
in this world will keep it for eternal life.
26 "If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there
My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will
honor.
27 "Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save
Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour.
28 "Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came from heaven,
saying, "I have both glorified it and will glorify it again."
29 Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it
had thundered. Others said, "An angel has spoken to Him."
30 Jesus answered and said, "This voice did not come because of
Me, but for your sake.
31 "Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world
will be cast out.
32 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples
to Myself."
33 This He said, signifying by what death He would die.
34 The people answered Him, "We have heard from the law that the
Christ remains forever; and how can You say, 'The Son of Man must
be lifted up'? Who is this Son of Man?"
35 Then Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the light is
with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake
you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.
36 "While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may
become sons of light." These things Jesus spoke, and departed,
and was hidden from them.
37 But although He had done so many signs before them, they did
not believe in Him,
38 that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which
he spoke: "Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has
the arm of the Lord been revealed?"
39 Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again:
40 "He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, lest
they should see with their eyes, lest they should understand with
their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them."
41 These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory and spoke of
Him.
42 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but
because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should
be put out of the synagogue;
43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
44 Then Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, believes
not in Me but in Him who sent Me.
45 "And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.
46 "I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes
in Me should not abide in darkness.
47 "And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not
judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the
world.
48 "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that
which judges him-- the word that I have spoken will judge him
in the last day.
49 "For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father
who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should
speak.
50 "And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore,
whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak."
JOHN 15:23-25 Fulfillment in John
23 "He who hates Me hates My Father also.
24 "If I had not done among them the works which no one else did,
they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated
both Me and My Father.
25 "But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is
written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.'
PSALM 41:7-12 Prophecy from the Psalms
7 All who hate me whisper together against me; against me they
devise my hurt.
8 "An evil disease," they say, "clings to him. And now that he
lies down, he will rise up no more."
9 Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread,
has lifted up his heel against me.
10 But You, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up, that I
may repay them.
11 By this I know that You are well pleased with me, because my
enemy does not triumph over me.
12 As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and set me before
Your face forever.
PSALM 55:12-14 Prophecy from the Psalms
12 For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; then I could bear
it. Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against
me; then I could hide from him.
13 But it was you, a man my equal, my companion and my acquaintance.
14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked to the house of
God in the throng.
MATTHEW 26:1-5,14-16 Fulfillment in the book of Matthew
1 ...Jesus... said to His disciples,
2 "You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of
Man will be delivered up to be crucified."
3 Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people
assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
4 and plotted to take Jesus by trickery and kill Him.
5 But they said, "Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar
among the people."
14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the
chief priests
15 and said, "What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him
to you?" And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.
16 So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.
LUKE 22:15-23 Fulfillment in Luke
15 Then He said to them, "With fervent desire I have desired to
eat this Passover with you before I suffer;
16 "for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled
in the kingdom of God."
17 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, "Take this
and divide it among yourselves;
18 "for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine
until the kingdom of God comes."
19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to
them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this
in remembrance of Me."
20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup
is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
21 "But behold, the hand of My betrayer is with Me on the table.
22 "And truly the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but
woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!"
23 Then they began to question among themselves, which of them
it was who would do this thing.
ISAIAH 53:8 Prophecy from Isaiah
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare
His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
LUKE 23:1-25 Fulfillment in Luke
1 Then the whole multitude of them arose and led Him to Pilate.
2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, "We found this fellow
perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar,
saying that He Himself is Christ, a King."
3 Then Pilate asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?"
He answered him and said, "It is as you say."
4 So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, "I find no
fault in this Man."
5 But they were the more fierce, saying, "He stirs up the people,
teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this
place."
6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked if the Man were a Galilean.
7 And as soon as he knew that He belonged to Herod's jurisdiction,
he sent Him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time.
8 Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had
desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many
things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him.
9 Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him
nothing.
10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused
Him.
11 Then Herod, with his men of war, treated Him with contempt
and mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back
to Pilate.
12 That very day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other,
for previously they had been at enmity with each other.
13 Then Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests,
the rulers, and the people,
14 said to them, "You have brought this Man to me, as one who
misleads the people. And indeed, having examined Him in your presence,
I have found no fault in this Man concerning those things of which
you accuse Him;
15 "no, neither did Herod, for I sent you back to him; and indeed
nothing deserving of death has been done by Him.
16 "I will therefore chastise Him and release Him"
17 (for it was necessary for him to release one to them at the
feast).
18 And they all cried out at once, saying, "Away with this Man,
and release to us Barabbas"--
19 who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made
in the city, and for murder.
20 Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out
to them.
21 But they shouted, saying, "Crucify Him, crucify Him!"
22 Then he said to them the third time, "Why, what evil has He
done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore
chastise Him and let Him go."
23 But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He
be crucified. And the voices of these men and of the chief priests
prevailed.
24 So Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested.
25 And he released to them the one they requested, who for rebellion
and murder had been thrown into prison; but he delivered Jesus
to their will.
ZECHARIAH 11:10-13 Prophecy from Zechariah
10 And I took my staff, Beauty, and cut it in two, that I might
break the covenant which I had made with all the peoples.
11 So it was broken on that day. Thus the poor of the flock, who
were watching me, knew that it was the word of the LORD.
12 Then I said to them, "If it is agreeable to you, give me my
wages; and if not, refrain." So they weighed out for my wages
thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the LORD said to me, "Throw it to the potter"-- that princely
price they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and
threw them into the house of the LORD for the potter.
MATTHEW 27:3-8 Fulfillment in Matthew
3 ... Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned,
was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to
the chief priests and elders,
4 saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." And they
said, "What is that to us? You see to it!"
5 Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed,
and went and hanged himself.
6 But the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, "It is
not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the
price of blood."
7 And they consulted together and bought with them the potter's
field, to bury strangers in.
8 Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this
day.
ISAIAH 53:7 Prophecy from Isaiah
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His
mouth; he was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before
its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.
MATTHEW 26:59-66 Fulfillment in Matthew
59 Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought
false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death,
60 but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward,
they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward
61 and said, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple
of God and to build it in three days.'"
62 And the high priest arose and said to Him, "Do You answer nothing?
What is it these men testify against You?"
63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said
to Him, "I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You
are the Christ, the Son of God!"
64 Jesus said to him, "It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say
to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right
hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven."
65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, "He has spoken
blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now
you have heard His blasphemy!
66 "What do you think?" They answered and said, "He is deserving
of death."
LUKE 23:8-9 Fulfillment in Luke
8 Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had
desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many
things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him.
9 Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him
nothing.
MARK 15:2-5 Fulfillment in Mark
2 ... Pilate asked Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And (Jesus)
answered and said to him, "It is as you say."
3 And the chief priests accused Him of many things, but He answered
nothing.
4 Then Pilate asked Him again, saying, "Do You answer nothing?
See how many things they testify against You!"
5 But Jesus still answered nothing...
ISAIAH 50:6-7 Prophecy from Isaiah
6 I gave My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those
who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and
spitting.
7 "For the Lord GOD will help Me; therefore I will not be disgraced;
therefore I have set My face like a flint, and I know that I will
not be ashamed.
MATTHEW 27:15-31 Fulfillment in Matthew
15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to
the multitude one prisoner whom they wished.
16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.
17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to
them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus
who is called Christ?"
18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to
him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have
suffered many things today in a dream because of Him."
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that
they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.
21 The governor answered and said to them, "Which of the two do
you want me to release to you?" They said, "Barabbas!"
22 Pilate said to them, "What ...shall I do with Jesus who is
called Christ?" They all said to him, "Let Him be crucified!"
23 Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they
cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!"
24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather
that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before
the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just
Person. You see to it."
25 And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and
on our children."
26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged
Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium
and gathered the whole garrison around Him.
28 And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.
29 When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His
head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before
Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"
30 Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on
the head.
31 And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put
His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.
PSALM 22:1-8 Prophecy in the Psalms
1 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far
from helping Me, and from the words of My groaning?
2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; and in
the night season, and am not silent.
3 But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted, and You delivered
them.
5 They cried to You, and were delivered; they trusted in You,
and were not ashamed.
6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised
of the people.
7 All those who see Me ridicule Me; they shoot out the lip, they
shake the head, saying,
8 "He trusted in the LORD, let Him rescue Him; let Him deliver
Him, since He delights in Him!"
MATTHEW 27:39-44 Fulfillment in Matthew
39 And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads
40 and saying, "You who destroy the temple and build it in three
days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from
the cross."
41 Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and
elders, said,
42 "He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King
of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe
Him.
43 "He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have
Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.'"
44 Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with
the same thing.
PSALM 22:9-17 Prophecy in the Psalms
9 But You are He who took Me out of the womb; you made Me trust
while on My mother's breasts.
10 I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother's womb you have
been My God.
11 Be not far from Me, for trouble is near; for there is none
to help.
12 Many bulls have surrounded Me; strong bulls of Bashan have
encircled Me.
13 They gape at Me with their mouths, like a raging and roaring
lion.
14 I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint;
my heart is like wax; it has melted within Me.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and My tongue clings
to My jaws; you have brought Me to the dust of death.
16 For dogs have surrounded Me; the congregation of the wicked
has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;
17 I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me.
MATTHEW 27:31 Fulfillment in Matthew
31 And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put
His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.
